Dr. Stephanie Valente is a staff breast surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Cleveland Clinic, Lerner College of Medicine / Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Valente earned her medical degree from Ohio University, completed her surgical residency at Summa Health System, followed by breast surgical oncology fellowship at the University of Southern California. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery.
Dr. Valente is the Director of the Breast Surgical Oncology fellowship program at the Cleveland Clinic and works closely with teaching the fellows, residents and medical students. She specializes in the treatment of breast cancer, as well as benign breast disease. Her interests include oncoplastic breast surgery, nipple sparing mastectomy, and intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT).
She has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal publications and has given many presentations on her research both nationally and internationally. She frequently directs and teaches at advanced breast surgical technique training courses.
