Dr. Avraham Schlager completed his General Surgery residency training at New York University Medical Center. Dr. Schlager spent two years of his residency in Jerusalem, Israel participating in a research program at the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at Emory University / Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Dr. Schlager is board certified in General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery. He is currently a Director of Trauma at The Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron, Ohio and is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). His clinical practice focuses on complex minimally invasive neonatal surgery, with specialization in fetal interventions, oncology, and tumors of the abdomen and chest. Dr. Schlager’s research interests include Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia and Surgical Technical Innovation.
