Dr. Amie Lucia is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical University, which is a Level One Trauma Center in Syracuse, New York. She serves as an Acute Care Surgeon providing services in trauma surgery, emergency general surgery and surgical critical care. Dr. Lucia also has an appointment as a General Surgeon at the Syracuse VA. She completed her general surgery residency at the University of Missouri in Kansas City and went on to complete a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Rochester, where she also obtained further training in Trauma Surgery. She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Critical Care.
Her academic interests include resident education and public health. She has become an integral component of the Violence Education and Outreach program for the trauma center and is very involved in resident education.
